CORONA COURIER

Short Documentary

Staying at home during the first lock down was not an option for Bahar Baharloo, a young New Yorker from Iran. Bahar got laid-off from work because of the corona crisis and wanted to -safely- go out and help other people who were too afraid or not capable to leave the house to get groceries and supplies. Biking around in the eerily quiet city for Corona Couriers, a volunteer led organization who helped others by dropping off food, Bahar felt New York was about to change. Did people start to care more for each other? Notice neighbors and others more? When the wave of corona slowly faded away, a new tsunami washed over the city; people took the streets to protest for equality. Bahar’s hope for a better future, a more social and equal one, was shared by many New Yorkers…
